Hey there, I’m Marisa Duran. I’m an actress and model working and living in Dallas, Texas.
I caught the "theatre bug" at a young age. My parents will tell you that it started when I was two years-old, dancing around to the Barney theme song. I agree wholeheartedly.
I grew up in a suburb on the east side of Dallas and was fortunate to have the opportunity to explore a city known for its rich culture and artistic influence. My passion for theatre was fueled by the many musicals that toured through town and I quickly decided I wanted to spend the rest of my life pursuing a career in acting.
Let us read and let us dance. These two amusements will never do any harm to the world.
In 2016 I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas with my BFA in Theatre, emphasis in Acting.
I have spent the last few years performing with various theatre companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and have also had the opportunity to work as a voiceover artist at FUNimation. Most recently, I have rekindled my passion for film, tv, and commercial work and have participated in several workshops with casting directors from LA and NYC. In addition, I am continuing to audition for local short films in order to build my resume and demo reel.
Whenever I’m not in rehearsal or performing on the weekends, you can usually find me playing video-games or hanging out at a local coffeeshop with a cup o’ joe and a good book.
I’ve been cast as Alexus in the DFW premiere of the ten-minute play Sinatra by Blake Lewis. Find out more about A Light in Dark Places here.
I’ll be performing with Shakespeare Dallas in the future. More details coming soon!
I continue to take voice lessons with local music director Vonda Bowling.
I finished a three-week run as Catherine Morland in Northanger Abbey with Stolen Shakespeare Guild.
The Mystery of the Batman: Ch. 5 - “FACE TO FACE” premiered in late June.
I completed a Voiceover for Anime “Lead Role” class with Felecia Angelle.
